Bruce & Rose Kerr (Queensland - National OIKOS Team)

After years of Pastoring in different place we have settled in Woombye which is on the Sunshine Coast, where we meet with many others who are looking for relationships not just meetings. The Lord seems to bring people into our lives

that need encouraging for a time and then they become encouragers of others, which is very fulfilling.

We meet with house church that gathers in different homes on the Sunshine Coast every second week where we worship and share what the Lord is doing and saying to us. On the other week we have open house at our place in Woombye where we have a cup of tea and just fellowship with whoever comes. We have some precious times together and are seeing a growth in people in all sorts of ways. Contact us if you want to know more.

Grahame Cooksley

Graeme Cooksley (North Queensland - National OIKOS Team)

Married to Carole, I have two adult children, and five grandchildren.

From a traditional background, the 1960 Charismatic Renewal in NZ, saw me captivated for God. A pastoral/teaching ministry developed, while in co-leadership (plural) of a local charismatic fellowship, and a move to Australia exposed me to a wide range of fellowships, including 5 years in a house church in NSW.

My desire is to see the Body of Christ strengthened and developed, particularly through the House Church structures.

We have lived in the Towoomba Region for about 16 years.  We have two primary school aged boys and an equally active dog.  We became aware that so many Christians were meeting house to house after hearing a CD by Frank Viola and George Barna on the way home from holidays Easter 2008.  We then read Pagan Christianity and The Untold Story of the New Testament Church, also by Frank Viola (and many other hooks).  We started meeting with some Christian friends in houses about a year ago.

We can't believe what a relief it is and how free we feel.  We never knew that we had so many chains that bound us from living our lives in the way of Jesus Christ.  It has been such a blessing to come back to our Head - Jesus Christ - and to see others restored in teh Life-giving connection with Him.

We really look forward to being involved with OIKOS and to building friendships with other home churches in South Queensland.

regional/GrahamandJudy.jpgGraham and Judy Wheat  (Gold Coast)

Graham and Judy have been planting home-based simple churches on the Gold Coast and Brisbane areas since 2005. This followed about 16 years of leading and pastoring in a number of conventional-type, denominational churches.

Nowadays, we support ourselves through Graham's home mechanical business and school bus driving as well as Judy's part-time office managerial role. We have 2 adult children, Zoe and Sam, who are a blessing to us and our ministry.

Our desire is to help others become and live as genuine and passionate followers of Jesus, sharing and demonstrating the transforming nature of God's Kingdom. We also want to help connect believers who are interested in having intimate fellowship in simple, organic, faith communities and to engage in outreach to the poor, sick, marginalised and spiritually lost.

     (Wide Bay/Burnett)

Both Lex and Rhonda grew up in country Queensland.  After working on a property and in his family's meat business for quite a number of years, Lex trained at Moore College in Sydney.  Rhonda completed her nurses training before they married.  They now have four married children and thirteen grandchildren.

Lex and Rhonda have spent the past twelve years involved in simple church/house church after spending twenty plus years pastoring in a denominational church throughout Queensland northern NSW.

They now live at Burrum Heads in Queensland and fellowship with a couple of house churches meeting in the area.

Their real passion is to see God's people "equipped for the work of ministry" and to help them recognise and use their God given gifts.
