Kate and I have the privilege of supporting missional leaders connected with micro credit projects. Heres an report Kate passed on thats too good not to share…
What do you do when your new missional group leaders, have dozens of members in their groups wanting baptism? You start with baptising them and showing how they can go and do likewise. Recently in Siquijor, Philiipines, 7 of the 17 missional group leaders were baptised and they are passionate about seeing Gods Kingdom advancing in their villages. Every week the groups are growing and multiplying and now baptising – more intentionally…
‘We had a Baptism for the Leaders who haven’t yet had Baptism. This ceremony is also good for them so that in their different groups they can do their Baptism too. First Loyd discussed the essence of the said ceremony then the process and how to do it followed. There were 7 leaders who were baptized that day. They will now schedule for another time for their members of the different house churches as many are waiting. I felt great and blessed and even in tears when I saw that many people are publicly showing their commitment to God.’
These group leaders had already accepted Jesus and had began sharing faith with friends, and gathering with them, they realised they needed to make this step of commitment and new birth in baptism.
Having community development projects on the ground such as microfinance and child health initiatives has opened the hearts of these communities to the good news of life with Jesus.
Please keep this missional network in your prayers and the power of simple missional churches
